With the large number of cloud storage services available today, you could gather a huge amount of storage space for your data. However, for this you would need a large number of cloud applications running in parallel on your computer, which can have a serious impact on its performance. A better solution is to use a universal cloud application, such as Places. This application is capable of connecting to various cloud folders and to many other places as well, hence the name.

Places is free to try, without any notable limitations. It is compatible with all modern Windows platforms and it provides full support for both 32 and 64-bit operating systems. The software can be installed normally or in standalone mode, which doesn't create any shortcuts, registry entries and so on.

The main user interface is compact and it has a clean design. It consists of a list, which will be populated with the cloud folders or remote servers you connect to. Connecting to a remote location can be done in just a few seconds. All you have to do is provide your login credentials and make a few other specifications, depending on what service you intend to connect to.

Besides cloud services, like Dropbox, Google Drive or others, the application provides support for Flickr and Instagram and for FTP and sFTP servers. Double clicking one of these services, on the main interface, will display a dual-panel window, on which you can navigate through your local and remote folders.

Data can be transferred between local and remote folders by simply dragging and dropping files from one panel to another. What's more, the application allows you to transfer data between different cloud folders and FTP servers. All you have to do is click and drag your files, from one window to another, as if you were working offline.

Pros

You may connect the application to multiple cloud services and FTP servers. Data can be transferred on the fly. The best part is that Places allows you to transfer files between different cloud folders and FTP servers, just by clicking and dragging.

Cons

There are no obvious drawbacks to address. Places gives you the possibility of bridging the gap between your cloud folders, social networks and FTP servers, without any effort.
